K2 Paranormal research

Paranormal research doesn’t normally pay the bills; thus, the need for a real job. I never thought in my wildest imagination that my day job would provide the most awe-inspiring encounter with an entity.
My job is to manage nonprofit corporations otherwise known as “Homeowner Associations”. This particular association sat at the top of a hill, with steep hill on the east side, rolling open space to the water on the other sides. I’d managed the community for a few years with the assistance of an onsite manager who was there every day. “Marty” was an expert construction witness for the courts; his reputation and work impeccable. In the years I’d known Marty, we’d gotten to know each other as friends, and he was accepting of the “weird” thing I did in my free time.
He called one day from his office in the clubhouse, and said, “You’re going to love this.” He explained the clubhouse’s motion activated security system was “malfunctioning”. Okay, have the system checked I responded.
“No, you don’t understand, Kelly. We can’t find a problem with the system. This isn’t the first time. There’s more to it.” He went on to say the tables and chairs move without anyone in the room, unlocked doors refusing to open, and basic stuff like noise and things going missing. At this time, I was new in the paranormal field and vacillated between excitement and fear in finding the activity was a result of paranormal activity.
The Board of Directors for the association has meetings once a month, so an hour or so before the next meeting, I ran a K2 through every room and at the areas where Marty was seeing the most activity. I performed an EVP session in his office where he was getting touched. Zip. Nada. Nothing.
About 6:00 PM, the Board, myself, Marty, and about 12 homeowners sat down for the board meeting at a horseshoe conference table for the board and theater seating for the homeowners. During long discussions/debates, I tend to look out windows when the talking heads are exercising their chops. This time, I had the treat of a dear outside the window. I watched the deer at the left side of the big windowpane. The right side of the window filled with a swooping white - almost opaque - mist. It swooped in, stopped. The deer looked towards the mist but showed no alarm. The entity turned and "looked" into the clubhouse – I felt the blood drain from my face. Fighting the impulse to grab my K2 and camera, I sat there staring at the mist.
The entity moved like a sheet in a gentle breeze and just hovered in the same spot for a minute or so. The deer moved off out of view and the entity rapidly swooped out of the frame of the window and down the cliff. Literally a cliff. No living creature could have navigated that cliff without safety equipment. “Kelly? Is everything all right? You’re pale.” Oh yeah, I’m just fine. Just saw my first ecto-mist apparition. No need to be concerned. Couldn’t pay attention to anything else that evening and never found a reason for the appearance. In the following months of managing the association, I didn’t see the entity again.
“The Ecto-Mist is a mist or fog that almost looks like it’s swirling. This vaporous cloud usually appears several feet off the ground and can move swiftly or simply stay still – almost likes it’s orbiting. These ghostly encounters are captured on many videos and in photographs, and can be white, gray or even black. Many people have witnessed them outdoors, in graveyards, battlefields and historical sites.” There’s a common belief that the mist is harbinger of an entity’s presence prior to “solidifying” into a full-bodied apparition; the mist doesn’t always become a full-bodied apparition.
This area is within a historical site. This hilltop is within the "Ring Mountain" area of Marin County and is believe to be a very powerful mountain for the indigenous people, the Miwok, and more specifically, the Huimen tribe. The Miwok believed in the spirit world and it was an active part of their every day lives and celebrations. Could be a possible reason for the entity.
There’s been a few funerals held in the building – one without permission. Could be a possible reason for the activity on the inside of the clubhouse.
Our understanding of Ecto-Mist is so minimal which makes researching this event so difficult. I can tell you that you will see it with your naked eye. Ecto-Mist isn’t something you’ll only find when you look back on your photos (that would be your thumb impeding on the lens or mist from your breath). You will see it.
As this is an open case, I welcome your thoughts and ideas. I’m no longer in the area of the event, so I’m not able to test theories. I do appreciate the discussion as the exchange of ideas and theories only helps us come to a better understanding of the paranormal.
